Yemen

The situation in Yemen is not getting any attention in the Western press. It is probably fair to say that the Yemeni regime, nay the Yemeni state itself, is the most unstable in the region. Al-Quds Al-Arabi reported on the front page that Al-Qa`idah claimed responsibility for an attack that targeted the son of the president and his nephew--who leads the intelligence service. The son and the nephew are now competing for succession.
