Dahlan, O Dahlan

Muhammad Dahlan was on Al-Arabiyya TV (the station of King Fahd's brother-in-law) which promotes him. He said that he won't submit his name for elections to the highest body of the movement, but not for lack of popularity. But this is my favorite: many of the Fath rank-and-file delegates yesterday almost disrupted the proceedings with loud complaints about lack of financial accountability (read the column by Thomas Fridman yesterday in which he praised the Fath government) in the movement, and the fact that the movement's leadership has not submitted a financial report in 20 years. Abu Mazen had to intervene and said that no "inapproriate" talk will be allowed in the conference. Kid you not. So Dahlan yesterday spoke to the Saudi press and said that he adds his voice to those who are protesting against corruption. Kid you not.
