Amanpour on Gaza
I saw by accident while cooking (a variation on the Southern Lebanese mudardarah: instead of Burghul I use cracked whet, and instead of lentils, I sometimes use a variety of beans) a special by Christiane Amanpour on Gaza. I must confess as a non-fan of Amanpour, that it was good--especially if measured by mainstream US media standards. She clearly was moved by the plight of the Gaza children. Yet, the attention to the plight of the children, ignored any focus or blame on the culprits: the terrorists of the Israeli army. And then there was this boring segment about that boring team of non-violence, led by the boring Dawud Kuttab. As soon as she started narrating that segment, I said to myself while mincing the garlic: I bet there is an American Zionist hand/foot in this. Sure enough, she added that the US Institute for (Zionist) Peace is funding the shop by Kuttab. She said at one point that the Gaza children are not only sad but angry. I thought: anger can be good, politically speaking.
