What is sad

When Sunni and Shi`ite political groupings in Lebanon reach an agreement in the future, the Christians in Lebanon would become politically ineffective (electorally speaking) and insignificant. Just as Muslims in Lebanon split between the Maronite-led Constitutional Bloc and the Maronite-led National Bloc in the 1920s and 1930s and 1940s, Christians now split between a Sunni-led bloc and a Shi`ite-led bloc.
