Human Rights Watch
Human Rights Watch released a special statement about the need for secularizing the personal status laws in Lebanon. Don't get me wrong, I am for full secularization and for the exile of all priests, ministers, clerics, and muftitis from Lebanon. If it is up to me, I would abolish religion in Lebanon and bring Anver Hoxa's version of secularism into the country. But what business is this for Human Rights Watch? I mean, I can't imagine Human Rights Watch making a statement about the need for secularizing the personal status laws in Israel and/or Saudi Arabia? Sometimes Human Rights Watch sees itself as an arm of US foreign policy or as the voice of the White Man among the sand niggers.
