What do they read? Who do they talk to?

This is the best example why relying on the New York Times to learn about the Middle East is like relying on MEMRI to learn about Arab media orientations. Look at Steven Erlanger: "Few criticize Mr. Mubarak himself". How could anybody who know Arabic and who watch Arabic TV and who read Arabic websites and who sits in cafes and talk to Egyptians make that ignorant statement? I used to read in the Western press that people in Pakistan like Gen. Musharraf until I went there and saw for myself. What planet do those people inhabit?
