The Syrian and Iranian regimes

I just don't understand those in the Arab world who support the Syrian or Iranian regimes. How would they respond to the charge that the Syrian and Iranian regimes have only provided the Palestinians in Gaza with speeches and sermons during this war? I remember that I was disillusioned with Nasser at age 10, when Nasser did nothing to help the Palestinians during Black September.
