The Israeli press' reporting on events in Gaza (abetted by the ban on foreign journalists, the destruction of electricity and telecommunications networks in Gaza, and the Israelis' own cowardly press corps) has reached new heights of hilarity: According to this article in the Jerusalem Post, a lone Golani soldier foiled his own kidnapping, chased a half-dozen Hamas fighters down a tunnel, engaged them successfully in a fierce gun-battle, only to regroup with his comrades a few minutes later.
