Western media coverage of Iranian affairs

Amer always criticizes me for being influenced by Western coverage of Iranian economic affairs. He wrote me this (I cite with his permission): "Yes, they will, most definitely, just pointing out that we can never trust western sources. I remember clearly, because I follow these things, how Iran was always reported on as being on the brink of collapse (in 2006 and 2007,) now all these articles are titled "good times over, now they're REALLY on the brink of collapse.) I've been reading about Iran's oil fields being "about to run out" since at least 1989."
