Reporting from Iraq

"Here are some of the comments I've heard in interviews or passing conversations:
There are 18 ministries and the only one you protected was the Oil Ministry. Why? America is like a blind giant. No one can challenge it. It can do anything, but it could fall in a deep valley. Without America, Muqtada al-Sadr would be playing a PlayStation doing nothing. No one was brave enough to challenge Saddam Hussein. Take the good with the bad. Leave, leave occupier! Al-Qaida works for the CIA. (Ouch.) We know, because of our experience, that the people are one thing and the government is another thing. Any nation would be envious of Iraq's relationship with the United States (as called for in the security and diplomatic agreements Iraq's parliament approved a week ago). Americans know everything because they provided Saddam with all of his weapons and technology, and that's why they still know everything. George Bush is the smartest man because he made the world think he was a fool. George Bush is a fool."
