The Genius of Lebanon, once again
This is from the website NowHariri: "Leafing through the posters from Lebanon's civil war that Zeina Maasri has gathered together in her new book Off the Wall, it becomes clear that the conflict produced a dazzling body of visual propaganda. The 136 posters are, with a handful of exceptions, beautiful, and are vibrant in a manner matched by few other works of art, political or otherwise, from the same period. The most striking of the posters rank alongside the masterpieces of 20th century political and revolutionary art — indeed, taken together, the posters surpass, in terms of quality, creativity and range, the visual output of any other 20th century conflict."
