I notice that Kanan Makiya attaches a PhD to his name now. That is nice, knowing that he never even completed his graduate studies in architecture. It must be one of those PhDs that UK universities give out in return for "writings" that you submit--although they make you sit for a chat before they grant you that really competitive degree.
PS Electronic Ali tells me that he has in fact two hard-earned PhDs: one honorary from Hebrew University, and the other (also honorary) from Tel Aviv University.
