An observer of the Georgian situation sent me this (I quote with his/her permission): "Yesterday, on youtube, I watched an old interview of Saachkavili with Charlie Rose: it was amazing! he is so much like March 14 leaders. He spoke about how beautiful and special Georgia is, and how beautiful and smart the Georgians, and that they hold "Western values" and "European values", unlike the rest of their region. He is the son of the Georgian communist intelligentsia, already highly educated in Kiev, he got a State Department fellowship in the early 1990s and they sent him to study in Columbia (he just got a masters there.) But he keeps talking about it like it is the definitive event of his life - he mentioned the term "ivy league" like 10 times with Charlie Rose."
