Lebanese sense of humor. I have written before about Lebanese-style candid camera shows. I wrote on how they push things to the very extreme. Every sketch ends with the target trying to hit the people playing the joke on him. Just now, they had a sketch on New TV's version where a guy goes to a clinic to be treated for cigarette addiction. The guy told him that their treatment is very effective and that they chop off the fingers that one uses to hold a cigarette. For extra effect, three people were seated next to the guy with their hands wrapped in bandages and they feigned pain. The customer was shown a long knife and was told to extend his hand for the fingers to be chopped off. He was so furious and angry and started to push and was about to hit the guy when--typically--he was told it was a joke. My favorite part is when the victim switches from violent anger to a fake yellow smile. (I must confess: I was laughing out loud).
