I am bracing myself. For months until the elections in November, I will have to endure all this self-congratulations in America about "how far we have come" on race issues. The media constantly congratulations the country because a woman almost became a candidate, when female leaders are now common in most regions of the world (except the Arab world and U.S.)--the Persians had a female leader in the 7th century.
