The most important part of Sa`d Hariri's press conference (it was not really a press conference because he always read what they write for him) was when he mocked a slogan by Musa As-Sadr (a man whose memory is constantly invoked by March 14th Movement). As-Sadr had said that "weapons are the ornaments of men"; Hariri said that "weapons are the ornaments of thugs." When one Arab journalist pointed out to Hariri that this will not go well with the Shi`ites, Hariri looked flustered and confused, and tried to retract.
