Norman Finkelstein sent me more gems from Aaron David Miller's new book: "“Fouad Ajami, one of the wisest and most honest observers of the contemporary Middle East” (p. 11); “The last heroic Arab face America saw was King Hussein’s” (p. 104); “That’s not to say that Kissinger wasn’t prepared to take risks. He willingly placed himself at the center of events—an attribute rare for secretaries of state” (p. 153). The best line however belongs to George Bush. Miller quotes him in July 2002 as saying: “I gave them a vision. What do the Palestinians want from me now?”"
