The US media (not to mention US Congress and even public opinion) is displaying an acute case of hypocrisy about the coverage of the developments in Tibet. All the media were more than willing to provide justifications for the violence by the protesters in Tibet. Here is the Washington Post: "The crisis exposed the anger Tibetans have long felt..." Oh, yeah? Can you write about the anger of the Palestinians which have been felt for over a century? They would never say that. Even attacks on shops owned by ethnic Han and Hui Chinese were justified by the US media. So the problem they have with the Palestinians is not the nature of their protests but in the Palestinian cause itself.
