Hazim Saghiyyah, the dean of former Arab leftists, strongly recommends Arab intervention in Lebanon but only if sponsored by the Saudi or Egyptian or Jordanian governments. Such intervention, he argues, is mild, kind, and benevolent and does not seek to intervene in Lebanese internal affairs. How nice. How kind.
