The sneaky foreign editor of the New York Times. This morning, I read a front page article in (my home delivered edition of) the New York Times about Pakistan. One phrase got my full attention. It went as follows: "...in particular the arrest of pro-Western human rights activists..." I wondered. Why are the human rights activists "pro-Western"? Why can't they be "pro-Eastern"? So I made a note to blog that later tonight. I came home to link to it, and noticed that the sentence has been changed to: "in particular the arrest of human rights activists." Did you think that we would not notice, o brilliant editors of the Times?
