I just saw that Alberto Fernandez II, former Arabic-speaking spokesperson of the State Department, is now charge d'affaire of the US embassy in Khartoum. As you may remember, he was publicly criticized and then silenced after he offered some criticisms of US policy in the Middle East on Al-Jazeera. Since Fernandez tells me that he reads this blog, I wish to offer him a warning: I predict that his next assignment will be in Fallujah if he offers more criticisms of US policy.
