I wish there are more hours in the day so that I can report to you more about new books. Husam `Itani's Hawiyyat Kathirah Wa Hayrah Wahidah: Sirah Lubananiyyah (Many Identities and One Perplexity: A Lebanese Narrative) is a very important study of political identities in Lebanon. It just came out and I strongly recommend it. Best of all: his intro is a piece of Adab and Siyasah at one: it is is a brief, beautifully written narrative that captures so much about living in Lebanon's war years. It is also honestly written. (Husam is the opinion page editor at As-Safir and a columnist).
