Qaddhaffi got their attention. If you may remember, I have been observing over the last few months that Mu`ammar Qadhdhafi (your beloved Libyan dictator) has been reverting to his past rhetoric as of late. He even signaled willingness to join an alliance with Syria and Iran. I also explained that he has not been happy with Western rewards after his agreed to prostrate before Western governments (on the condition that his terrorism and oppression be praised). Western governments took notice. Tony Blair recently visited him, and Bush sent him a personal letter in which he offered praise, and stated that a US embassy will open in Libya soon. Qadhdhafi's rhetoric immediately softened.
