But he later elaborated: he said that if US troops were to withdraw, sectarian warfare will ignite across Iraq, car bombs will become a daily reality, clerics will speak for the masses, civilians will be shot at checkpoints, planes will be bombing villages and towns and neighborhoods, some millions of Iraqis will be displaced, foreign powers will get to dominate Iraq, and Iraqi professionals will flee, and women will see their conditions deteriorate, and torture will take place in Iraq prisons. He pained a very grim picture of Iraq after the withdrawal of US troops. Take note.
