Today, I saw Albert Mansur on NBN (taped from yesterday). He was quite effective. He is a rare effective opposition figure in Lebanon. And he has credibility as far as opposing the domination of the Syrian regime in Lebanon. I have written about him before. I admire his staunch secularism, and opposition to Zionism. He is also one of the very few--if not the only one--who dares to criticize Saudi government in Lebanon. Today, he talked about a plot by three intelligence services (Jordanian, Egyptian, and Saudi), with the support of the US, to recruit and set up Al-Qa`idah (and its ilk) in Lebanon, as an alternative plan after the failure of the Israeli military plot in Lebanon last summer. He talked about the coordinated agenda of acute sectarian agitation in the country. But towards the end of the program he disappointed me deeply when he was talking about clients of the Hariri family in Lebanon; he dismissed them as insignificant and called "the Sri Lankans of Hariri."
