Israeli and Western publications are relying on Ash-Sharq Al-Awsat to report that the defected Iranian General is providing crucial information on Iranian links to Hizbullah, Mahdi Army, Black September, Abu Nidal, Cuban Regime, PFLP-GC, Qa`idah, Hamas, KGB, SSNP, Direct Action, Baader Meihof, Red Brigades and--to make it more believable--he "has documents and maps." My view on this is this. If this guy is as valuable, the US would not be bragging about how valuable he is right away. Also, by their own admission, he was in charge of link with Hizbullah back in the 1980s. So he will have plenty of information on people like Subhi Tufayli, who is now retired in a village near Ba`lbak.
