Flash. Lebanonesia may soon get a new saint. LBC-TV reported with great fanfare today that a "special" Vatican committee has approved a tentative examination of the sainthood of Lebanese monk, Istifan Ni`mah (he died in the 1930s). Apparently, the special committee took note of evidence of his "heroism"--a technical Vatican reference to his "miracles." LBC-TV reported that his miracles continued long after his death. The last "evidence" of his miracles, according to the same network, was the cure of a person from cancer in 2002. I immediately contacted the network. I wanted to report to them that some of his miracles were proven after 2002. Just last week, I found a quarter, and I personally credit Mr. Ni`mah. In other news from la la land, I mean, Lebanonesia, the Lebanese scientist in France who "invented" a cure for cancer, is visiting Lebanon. The Lebanese Forces militia--which really values human life despite their massacres in Sabra and Shatila and other sites--posted banners welcoming the inventor around Lebanon.
