First, it royally annoys me when an Israeli takes up the case of an Arab victim of oppression. You can do better if you worry about Arab victims of Israeli oppression--if you really care that is, and we both know that you don't. Secondly, Saadawi already published her autobiography--my students are reading it for this semester, o Haaretz expert on Saadawi who thinks that she is still writing it. Thirdly, Saadawi (despite my critique of her work--on radical feminist grounds, and on anti-Orientalist grounds) is a fierce critic of Israel, and a staunch supporter of Palestinian rights. So please Haaretz: spare me and her your fake and patronizing sympathy. Go back to what you do best: propagandizing on behalf of Gun Zionism (as David Hirst called it).
