If there is a more unprincipled person it must be Jalal Talbani--the man who at one point was a close ally of Saddam Husayn. In the same week, he can appear as a Marxist and as a right-wing reactionary; as an ostensible opponent of the death penalty, and as a leading member of a government that operates its own death squads. Visiting Syria today, Talbani today spoke against "colonialist forces" in the Middle East. Let me hear him utter those words in his next visit to the US. I dare him.
