I was pissed. The rules of TV appearances is that you have to perform in a way as to be invited back. Since Sep. 11, my rule is to make sure that you perform in such a way as that they would not invite you back again. And I think I have succeeded in that regard. I wish I have the transcript of my one-time appearance on Hardball. I never saw Mathews get more angry. So I was on Al-`Alam TV tonight: it is an Arabic TV funded by Iran and broadcast worldwide. It is widely watched in Iraq because you don't need cable to get it. I was on it from Beirut before, but lately I have not been calling back. Today, I accepted. As I was talking, I went on giving my comments about the speech, I felt that I have ample time to express my ideas. But then, when I talked about the prime minister and the rulers of Iraq as "puppets of the occupation", the anchor got really obviously nervous, and signaled that he wanted to interrupt me. I did not like that, and said--rather firmly--no, I will finish my thought first--and continued to talk about the puppets who beg the occupation forces to stay longer in their country. He asked me another question, and that was it. I completed the interview having learnt more about Iranian support for the puppet rulers of Iraq.
