In Lebanon, Walid Jumblat is taken as an "intellectual." Well, it is true; he does subscribe to the New York Review of Books, he shares meals with Robert Fisk (Abed, his driver, waits outside), and he finds "documents and maps" on the internet. If that does not make you an intellectual than Bush...is not making progress in Iraq. Today, Walid Jumblat called for the UN to establish an international tribunal for the Hariri assassination "under chapter 7." Lebanese now talk about chapter 7, right and left. But Chapter 7 of the UN Charter is about military intervention, not tribunals or Hummus investigations. (thanks Amer)
