I am still thinking about yesterday's phrase by US Department of State's spokesperson in which he criticized Lebanese demonstrators for their "non-democratic motivations." How does the esteemed official judge the motivations? (There is a Hadith in which a Muslim fighter came back from battle and told Muhammad that he has just killed a pagan in battle although the pagan declared the Shahadah prior to his death. (Some pagans used to cry out the Shahadah before the sword hit their necks to avoid being killed). Muhammad asked him: "Did you examine his heart?" (Because the Muslim fighter decided that the pagan was insincere when he declared the Shahadah, and killed him).)
