I watched an interview (from a few months ago) on NBN TV with Fathi Yakan (the Islamic fundamentalist thinker from Tripoli). He said that the Israeli lobby was behind the abolishment of the caliphate in 1924. I hope that Mersheimer and Walt disagree.
