On anti-Semitism. Some people asked me to elaborate on my opinion that the article by Norwegian author Jostein Gaarder is a grotesque anti-Semitic piece. First, you can't prove that something is anti-Semitic to anti-Semites. So I will address myself to the rest of my readers. Any attempt to hold Jews or Judaism responsible for the crimes of Israel is anti-Semitic; any attempt to methodologically link Jewish history to Israel by way of stigmatic methodological association is anti-Semitic; any attempt to mock Jewish beliefs in an article dealing with Israel and its actions, is also anti-Semitic; and any attempt to treat all Jews as a monolothic bloc is classic anti-Semitism.
