New TV had right-wing Phalanges figure, Joseph AbuKhalil (no relationship to Angry Arab) go against leftist Walid Shararah (editor of the opinion page in the new Al-Akhbar newspaper). Shararah simply kicked his ass. It was quite a show. AbuKhalil almost left the program. I disagreed with a few things that Walid said: 1) he did not criticize the Syrian regime, and even praised it; 2) he said that the Lebanese were kind toward the Palestinians. And I wish people would stop saying that Lebanon treated the Palestinians better than other Arab countries. Read Laurie Brand's book on the Palestinians in the Arab world.
