Is it not funny that US journalists quote Walid Jumblat right and left as if he speaks for Arab public opinion? I mean, he does command the loyalty of the overwhelming majority of the Druzes of Lebanon (some 4% of the population). And Lebanon is something less than 1% of the Arab population. So Jumblat speaks for the majority of the 4% of the 1% of all Arabs. OK. And do they know how despised and detested Jumblat is among Arab peoples, especially these days? And this fact seems to really bothers Jumblat these days. Notice that in his press conference today he again spoke with great envy about Nasrallah's standing in Arab/Muslim public opinion. And what frustrates Jumblat is that he reads the New York Review of Books. He thinks that that in itself should boost his standing in the Arab world.
