Is Israel planting stories in the Western press? At the end of this article in the Guardian, a speech by Hizbullah leader in South Lebanon, Nabil Qawuk, was quoted. It refers to some nasty threats to Americans. I was not pleased of course. But I was surprised because I have read his speech as published in the Lebanese press (and watched the excerpts on LBC-TV), and there was no reference to those remarks or to those threats. He spoke against the American government, but did not say anything--from what I read and saw--about the American people. I went back and checked again, and there was no reference to those alleged remarks in any Arabic publication. Where did the Guardian come up with that? Somebody should notify the Guardian.
