The real motives of Walid Jumblat. Jumblat finally spoke on Egyptian state TV. He was asked about the Israeli aggression on Lebanon, and he said that Lebanon should not waver in pursuing the killers of...RAFIQ HARIRI. I kid you not. I will tell you a story about Jumblat. Nabih Birrri, a friend of Jumblat and speaker of the Lebanese parliament, told me this story 2 weeks ago. He said sometime in the 1980s, Birri read in the newspapers that Jumblat released a statement that accused Rafiq Hariri of being an agent of the CIA and Mossad. So Birri was visiting Damascus (both served the Syrian regime for decades), and he encountered Jumblat in Qasr Al-Muhajirin. So he asked him why he has turned on his friend Hariri. Jumblat said: "He has not paid me in a while." Birri asked him: "How much have you received from him thus far?" "30 million," Jumblat answered.
