Here, Israeli planes bomb the Khiyam torture center in South Lebanon. During the long years of Israeli occupation of South Lebanon, this was a notorious torture center and horrific prison. After the humiliating withdrawal of Israeli occupation troops from South Lebanon in 2000, the evacuated prison became a widely visited site. Noam Chomsky visited it in his last visit to Lebanon.
