Nicholas Kristof represents all that which is wrong with American liberalism. Notice that his solutions to Africa's problems are always kitsch solutions: celebrity tours, and the likes. He also says: "According to Foreign Policy magazine, 92 percent of U.S. college students don't take a foreign language class. Goucher College in Baltimore bills itself as the first American college to require all students to study abroad, and the rest should follow that example." I am opposed to such requirements, just as I am opposed to required "volunteer" credit units in college. That is easy for rich kids, Mr. Kristof but not for poor students. Yes, there are poor students in the US, Mr. Kristof.
