A Big Hummus Spill in Lebanon. There was a very dangerous sign in Lebanese politics last week. A sign that was inevitably missed by Hassan Fattah and the US journalists who roam the Middle East with a bevy of translators, right-wing native consultants and contacts, chefs, trainers, and bodyguards. The Council of Maronite Bishops expressed in a statement last week its dismay over the "monopoly by one [Sunni] sect" over posts in government. The Sunni Mufti's council responded by saying that Sunnis share is in fact less than what it should be. Would somebody spend some time today to retrieve some articles in US newspapers from a year ago in which Fattah and company were speaking about the iron unity between Christians and Muslims? Thanks.
