Raghd Saddam Husayn wants your sympathy. Al-Arabiyya TV (also known as Ridiculous-iyya TV) decided to commemorate the invasion of Iraq: with candles, cake, and fanfare (fanfare is from an Arabic word: al-Farfarah). So to highlight the plight and sufferings of Iraqis under US bombings, they decided to do a special on an average suffering Iraqi. They selected Raghd Saddam Husaym (who likes democracy, by the way), and showcased her in a pathetically fawning 2-hour special. The interviewer all but chanted: "with blood, with spirit, I sacrifice myself for you, o Saddam." (If it is up to me, I would ban that chant, and ban chants for "democracy" and "freedom" too). The special had to focus on her "experience" with US bombs falling on Iraq. They decided that Raghd speaks for suffering Iraqis. She seems to be living in luxury in Jordan: but then again, I remembered that King Husayn was so close to Saddam that the latter invited him to fire the first bombs against Iran in his war; and `Udayy Saddam Husayn used to be so close to the current King of Jordan that they used to go clubbing together. Is that not sweet and tender from Arab royal brats?
