The pictures say it all. Palestinian police yesterday preferred to strip to their underwears and surrender to Israeli occupation troops, rather than defend Palestinian prisoners. Yet, Palestinian police shot at Palestinian demonstrators, and killed one. That is the role of Palestinian police, and that is the role for Palestinian Authority. This is the trap that Arafat set for himself, and this is the trap that Hamas is entering with the full backing of oil money. Notice that Abu Mazen only said that he "held Israel responsible for Sa`dat's life", as if it is only the matter of his life. That implies that short of killing him, Israel can do what it wishes. The Times of London had a piece on the matter, a piece that you expect to read in the propaganda sheet that it has become especially on Middle East matters, and talked about Sa'dat having prison perks, in violation of the agreements. It talked about his collection of books and birds. That is not permissable under occupation.
