Hamas will prove to be a more crude and more vulgar version of the Fath movement. You will say that Hamas is not corrupt: there is no evidence to that as of yet, although, like Fath, Hamas really enjoys Arab oil money, and its dependence on Gulf money explains its very polite language toward Saudi Arabia and the other governments of the Gulf. This is an organization that is not impressive: neither in "theory", nor in practice. How more interesting and promising the political picture of Palestinian organizations was in the 1960s and 1970s. I blame the decline on Israel, `Arafat, Jordan, Ba`th regimes, and Gulf governments. (No time to elaborate--fill in the blanks).
