Since I posted my review of Munich (which included a reference to PLO representative in Rome Wa'if Zu`ytir who was murdered by Israeli terrorists, and his assassination was shown in the movie, Munich). His cousin (who was in my class in high school, and she remains a good friend), sent me an email which included this information about Wa'il:
"Thanks a lot for your defense of our Shouhada, especially Wa'el. Did you know that the moment he was killed he was holding a bunch of grapes, and x rays for his chest as he was sick. At that time he was busy translating Alf Layla Wa Layla to Italian.Wa'el loved opera and could not afford the ticket to attent one, so he managed to find a job as an usher for seating there! This way he formed a friendship with Alberto Moravia, who was attending once the opera and noticed an enthusiastic guy sitting right near him, and from that moment they were close friends and Wa'el got introduced to highly intellectual people in Rome."
