Whenever a female is elected president or prime minister of a developing country, the New York Times always mentions that the country in question is "male-dominated." Look at this example: "Michelle Bachelet, who was elected Sunday as president of this male-dominated, prosperous and deeply religious nation of 16 million." Does that mean that the US, which never had a female president, is not male-dominated? Please enlighten me, o wise New York Times.
