Walid Jumblat (identified by Ignatius as "something of a warlord himself"), from his palace in Mukhtarah (renovated and expanded by the money of arms traders who have been funding his endeavors before he discovered Hariri Inc), invites the US to invade Syria. In other news, Charles Ayyub in Ad-Diyar reminds Jumblat that PFLP-GC and Fath-Intifadah fought on his own behalf in the War of the Mountain (but Jumblat's own fighters committed the sectarian massacres--having said that I still blame the war of the mountain on the Lebanese Forces militia). In this tough piece by Ayyub, he accuses Jumblat of several murders in Lebanon (with the support of Khaddam during his "glory days.")
PS A member of Jumblat's bloc, has just denied the statement quoted in the column by Ignatius. If you believe the denial, it means that the widow of a former Nigerian dictator is about to send you cash, and you have won the big lottery prize in Spain.
