Orientalist Archeology. From what I read and heard, Western archaeologists in Afghanistan are following in the footsteps of early Orientalist archeologists in the Middle East. They are either ignoring or destroying Islamic-era archeology, and focusing on the layers of the pre-Islamic past. That is the school of Henri Lammens.
