The Washington Post now reads as the official record of the US government. Look at this piece on US pro-"democracy" programs. Look at the item for Lebanon listed as "helped parliament and local councils speed and open up debates." Let me translate that to you: somebody in Lebanon stole our taxpayers' money to buy a new expensive car, and some other luxury items. And look at the item for Iraq: "helped set up government offices." Really? Did the money also help set up offices for Ministry of Interior where torture took place? Tell me. And notice for Kyrgyzstan that the money supports "private newspapers." I am sure that this money is given to "private newspapers" regardless whether the newspapers are supportive of US policy or not. Oh, ya. US aid is really blind in that regard.
