Oh, no. Saddam's is back writing his lousy poetry. Please, no. Technically, this can qualify as torture. I know that you think I am biased here, and I am. But this is Saddam's latest poem which he wrote in court. First, he insists on writing according to the classical meters of Arabic poetry, and yet every line violates the meters. And the literary value is so bad. If you can't read Arabic, ask people who do. Even Saddam's fans should admit that he is a lousy writer, even if they can't admit that he was a brutal dictator. And Saddam asked his lawyer, according to Al-Quds Al-`Arabi, for Ibn Khadlun's Muqaddimah and Mutanabbi's Diwan.
